Cultural Resources Committee Archaeological Field Work

Cancelled due to heat and overgrown grasses.  May not be rescheduled until the fall (cooler weather and maybe grasses will burn over).

(Must be FAFNM Member. Please RSVP)

(If you're not a member, please join and then RSVP.)

Location: In the area of Arrastre Creek just east of BLM9007 on AFNM's Black Mesa.

Purpose: Use compass and tape to more accurately determine location of numerous archaeological features previously located in the area.  Those include grinding slicks, petroglyphs, artifacts and structures.

Meet on east side of I-17 Sunset Point Exit 252 at 10:00am. Probably done by 2:00pm.

Need high clearance vehicle or ride with someone who has one.

Bring sturdy hiking shoes, drinking water, lunch, sun protection and whatever...

Trip will be postponed in case of muddy roads or inclement weather.
